Installation Note 43231: SAS connection failure after upgrade migration, local service refers to source machine
After migrating from SAS® OpRisk VaR 4.2 to 4.21, a logon connection failure like the following occurs:
SAS Connection Failure: Connection to
omi://vml18676c.na.sas.com:8561;domain=DefaultAuth/Foundation failed
The connection failure occurs because after the upgrade migration, the local service refers to the source machine (vml18676c.na.sas.com) and is the wrong environment for the migration.
To fix this problem, complete the following steps:
- SAS Mangement Console → Plugins Tab → Foundation Services manager
- Select Local Service for your application (for example, SASRiskManagement1.2 Local Services).
- Right-click, select Properties, highlight and copy the local service name (use Ctrl-C), then close the pop-up window.
- Right-click, select Delete to delete the (original) local service.
- Highlight SASPortal Local Services (the name includes a version number) - this is the standard definition that needs to be duplicated.
- Right-click and select Duplicate Service Deployment.
- Paste the name that was copied in step 3 above (use Ctrl-V), and then click OK.
Lastly, after performing the above steps, restart SAS Remote Services.
